How does the app look for a captain?

The search runs in four rounds of about 20 seconds each. The first round reaches captains within 2 km of you, then the radius widens to 4, 6 and 8 km. A full search therefore takes roughly a minute and a half. If no captain is available once the rounds are over, the request closes, you get a notification that no captains were available, and you can request again.

Common causes and how to fix each one

1. No captains are free near you right now

The number of captains online changes minute by minute, and most of them may be on other rides. Before you request, the app shows how many taxis are available in your area; if the number is low, expect the search to take longer. The fix: let the rounds finish, and if nobody is available, try again in a few minutes.

2. Your pickup point is unclear

If the pin is inside a building or on a narrow street that is hard to enter, a captain may hesitate to accept. Drag the pin to a gate or a street where a car can stop, especially outside universities and hospitals with more than one entrance.

3. You are outside the service area

The service currently runs in Mansoura and its surroundings. If your pickup point is outside the service area, the request is not sent at all; the app tells you so and names the nearest service area and how far it is. This is not an offers problem, it is the current operating boundary.

4. The "female captain only" option is on

If you turn on the female captain preference, your request only reaches available female captains, and there are fewer of them. If it is not essential for this particular trip, turning it off widens the number of captains who receive your request.

5. Weak internet or notifications turned off

Offers arrive in real time, so if your connection is weak or the app's notifications are off, you may not see them in time. Keep the app open while it searches, and make sure notifications and location access are allowed.
