The right app for a family is not just the one that finds the nearest car. It is the one that lets you book for your mother while you are at work, stop at the school and the pharmacy in a single trip, know the price before you request, and follow the ride from your phone. Taxi Masr runs in Mansoura today with licensed taxis only, at the meter price or less with no surge, with up to 5 stops per trip, booking for someone else, a live tracking link, automatic night sharing and an SOS button.
For families: Taxi Masr accounts are for people aged 18 and over. To send your son or daughter, book from your own account with "Book for someone else" and follow the trip from your phone; for young children, the safest choice is an adult travelling with them. Captains do not provide child seats, so bring your child's seat if they need one.
Before the car arrives you see the captain's name, rating and trip count, and the plate number, colour and model. Captains drive licensed taxis, and their ID and driving licence are reviewed before the account is activated.
A family trip is rarely point to point: two schools then work, or the pharmacy then grandparents' house. Add up to 5 stops when booking, so the whole route is priced once, before you request.
Book for your parents or another family member with their name and phone number, so the captain knows who is riding, and follow the trip yourself.
Families travel at the busiest times: mornings, school pickup and evenings. Taxi Masr's meter is EGP 20 to start + EGP 5 per km + EGP 0.50 per minute, with no surge, and the only increase is 25% from midnight to 5 am.
Schedule the doctor's appointment or the train in advance; the app reminds you 15 minutes before and starts searching for a captain about 10 minutes before the time. Payment is at the end of the trip in cash or by InstaPay, or by card on a POS terminal if the captain has one. If you are booking for someone else, make sure they have a way to pay.
