Estimate your fare before you request

Estimates depend on the actual route and traffic. The binding fare is the one shown in the app before you confirm. The tariff is set by the authorities and is updated in the app whenever it changes.
The official taxi tariff in Mansoura
These are the tariff figures currently applied inside Taxi Masr for the Mansoura zone. We use them exactly as they are to compute the "meter fare" you see before booking.

How the fare is calculated: flag fall + (distance × per-km rate) + (time × per-minute rate). If the result is below the minimum fare, the minimum applies. On night rides the result is multiplied by 1.25.

What "meter or less" means
When you request a ride, the app computes the official meter fare and shows it to you. The request goes to nearby captains, and each captain has exactly two options:
- Accept the meter fare as it is.
- Make a discounted offer of up to 20% to win the ride.
There is no third option. No captain, and not the app itself, can ask for more than the meter at rush hour, in the rain or on holidays. This is not a promotion — it is a rule built into the system.
Other charges you may see on your bill
Cancellation fees
Cancelling is completely free within the first 2 minutes of your request, or before any captain has accepted. After that a small fee applies and is passed to the captain to compensate for their time and fuel:

The app shows you the exact fee before you confirm a cancellation. If the captain cancels, you are never charged.
Waiting at the pickup
When the captain arrives you have 5 free minutes. After that, EGP 1.50 per extra minute applies, capped at EGP 30. Both you and the captain see the same waiting timer in the app.
Charity contribution
EGP 1 is added to every paid ride and goes to a charity. It is shown clearly on your receipt, and the app tracks how much you have contributed in total.
Tips
Entirely optional. After the ride you can add EGP 5, 10, 20 or any amount you choose. Tips go 100% to the captain; we take no commission on them.
Payment methods

| Apple Pay | On iPhone, with one tap through the same secure gateway. |
| POS terminal | Some captains carry a card terminal in the taxi. |
You can also split the fare with friends inside the app, apply promo codes before confirming, and request a detailed receipt after every ride via WhatsApp or email.
Do fares differ between cities? Yes. Each city has its own official tariff, and the app automatically applies the tariff of the zone where your trip starts. We currently operate in Mansoura and will add cities gradually.
